Tempting as those plump oysters and rainbow sushi rolls may be, at a buffet, it’s best to admire them from afar. Unlike a sushi restaurant with flash-frozen fish (sayonara, parasites!), buffets struggle to keep a massive batch of raw seafood perfectly chilled for hours.

This creates a prime breeding ground for Vibrio, a not-so-friendly bacteria that can cause a symphony of stomach woes, leaving you wishing you’d stuck to the cooked options. Remember, a happy gut is a far better trophy than a bout of foodborne illness!
