Jamie Foxx is an American comedian, singer, and actor who rose to fame for his impersonations on the sketch comedy show “In Living Color.” He later established himself as a versatile film actor, most notably with his Oscar-winning performance as Ray Charles in “Ray.”
Eric Marlon Bishop was Foxx’s given name. When he started doing stand-up comedy, he adopted his foxy stage name because he wanted something more gender-neutral in the hopes of getting called up earlier. Foxx has been the host and executive producer of the Fox game show “Beat Shazam” since spring 2017.
