Celebrities You Never Knew Changed Their Names
Winona Rider – Real Name: Winona Laura Horowitz
Winona Laura Horowitz, better known as Winona Ryder, made her film debut in 1986 with the film “Lucas.” Her proper big break would come two years later in the form of “Beetlejuice.” Other appearances in hits like “Little Women,” “Heathers,” and “Girl, Interrupted” helped to establish Ryder as a household name… even if it wasn’t her real name.
Ryder was asked how she wanted her name to appear in the credits after her first job, and she chose “Ryder” on the spur of the moment because she was listening to a Mitch Ryder record when she received the call. In 2020, she starred in the miniseries “The Plot Against America.”
