Elevator escapades usually end with a ding, not a near dissection! But for Jie Yuan in Shenzhen, China, back in October 2014, his ride nearly split him in half. As he tried to wiggle out, the elevator decided to play a terrifying game of “you snooze, you lose,” all because its sensors decided that it was time to close the doors.
Thankfully, three brave souls weren’t about to let Jie become the filling of an elevator sandwich. They dove in, pushing him from what could have been a tight end. It’s a good thing elevator sensors aren’t in charge of happy endings—because this time, they missed their cue completely!
