Harry Potter Stars Continue to Shine: A Glimpse into Their Post-Wizarding Careers
Scarlett Byrne – Pansy Parkinson
Scarlett Byrne, recognized by many as the sly and sharp-tongued Pansy Parkinson from the “Harry Potter” series, has expanded her horizons since leaving the magical realm. After departing from Hogwarts, she ventured into other notable projects, including a recurring role as Nora Hildegard on the popular TV series “The Vampire Diaries.”
Scarlett showcased her versatility by appearing in “Falling Skies.” As for her personal life, she tied the knot with Cooper Hefner, son of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, and has since become an advocate for various social causes. In August 2020, they welcomed their daughter, Betsy, after Hugh Hefner’s beloved grandmother.
Evanna Lynch – Luna Lovegood
Evanna Lynch stole our hearts as Luna Lovegood in the “Harry Potter”. In 2017, this Irish talent made her mark on the London stage with a pivotal role in the play “Disco Pigs.” The following year, she swapped her wand for dancing shoes, wowing audiences on “Dancing With The Stars” and securing an impressive third place in the finals.

Evanna had roles in films like “Danny,” “My Name Is Emily,” and “Madness in the Method.” Her theatrical prowess blossomed in 2019 with her role in “The Omission of the Family Coleman.” She also advocates for a vegan lifestyle and hosts a podcast, “The Chickpeeps.”
Katie Leung – Cho Chang
The actress who charmed us as Cho Chang in the “Harry Potter” series is none other than Katie Leung. She soon became a household name in the field with just one movie. In the franchise, her Ravenclaw character shared a close bond with the Boy Who Lived, notably in “The Order of the Phoenix,” where their steamy kiss stole the limelight.

While “Harry Potter” was a significant part of her career, Katie also had a minor role as a nurse in “T2 Trainspotting.” These days, her passion lies in theater work, a new chapter in her journey beyond the wizarding world.
Shefali Chowdhury – Parvati Patil
Shefali Chowdhury, one-half of the Patil sisters, graced three “Harry Potter” films with her presence. She first wowed us in “The Goblet of Fire,” looking absolutely stunning at the Yule Ball before continuing her magical journey with appearances in “The Order of the Phoenix” and “The Half-Blood Prince.”

Shefali spilled the beans on how she landed the role. The production team was hunting for twins to play pivotal roles in the franchise, and her teacher urged her to audition. After numerous tryouts, she and Afshan secured their spots. She chose not to pursue acting further; her post-Potter roles were limited to three short films, released in 2015 and 2019.
Kelly Macdonald – Helena Ravenclaw
Kelly Macdonald, known to Potterheads as Helena Ravenclaw or the Gray Lady, made her film debut at just 19 in “Trainspotting,” acting alongside seasoned pros. In “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2,” Harry questioned her about the diadem Horcrux amid the Battle of Hogwarts. Interestingly, during that scene, she had to work with a cardboard cutout of Harry.

Beyond Potter, Kelly has graced various films and series like “Gosford Park,” “No Country for Old Men,” “Brave,” “Black Mirror,” “Intermission,” and “Boardwalk Empire.” She even bagged an Emmy award for her role in “The Girl in the Cafe.”
