Miss America 2024: This Military Officer Made History in Pageantry World
Breaking Barriers in Physics and Astronomy
At the USAFA, Madison dove into a physics degree with a focus on astronomy. Why physics, you might ask? Well, for anyone dreaming of being an astronomer or a pilot, physics lays down the basics of how the universe works. This knowledge would be useful in understanding how planes fly and how to handle different weather conditions up in the air.
Unfortunately, women have always been outnumbered in the fields of physics and astronomy. Yet Madison was determined to break those norms. She’s part of a growing group of ambitious women stepping into STEM fields and slowly but surely narrowing the gender gap.
