While Madison was acing her academics, she also showed off some enviable leadership skills. Balancing military discipline with schoolwork, she managed to snag the prestigious Truman Scholarship. Turns out they only pick around 60 people out of over 800 applicants each year, proving that Madison had the makings of a future leader in public service.
On top of that, she made it to the Superintendent’s List three times at the USAFA. Only those who excel in military duties and stay in top physical shape can make it onto that list. No one could deny that Madison was a powerhouse in every sense.
