Kate Silverton – Age 53
Kate Silverton is an English journalist and former broadcaster and newsreader for the BBC. She is known for her regular appearances on BBC News at One and BBC Weekend News, as well as making occasional appearances on the BBC News Channel and BBC World News. Silverton also featured as a mentor in the BBC Two series The Speaker in April 2009, providing advice on good storytelling and public speaking. In 2010, Silverton married Mike Heron and in November 2011, the couple welcomed a baby girl. In January 2008, Silverton took legal action against a clinic due to an allegedly botched cosmetic surgery procedure for the treatment of acne scars, which caused a severe skin reaction and resulted in her taking two weeks off work.
